An “unlicensed” medical practitioner was arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) during an entrapment operation in Iloilo City.

The suspect was identified as Jessyl Salazar-Faderugao, also known as “Doc Jes”. She has been charged with illicit practice of medicine and estafa.

NBI director Jaime Santiago said Faderugao, who owns an aesthetic clinic in the city, performed medical procedures without a license.

The suspect, according to Santiago, is not a registered physician based on records from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and has no Certificate of Registration from the Medical Board Commission.

In an interview, Faderugao claimed that she obtained legitimate academic credentials to practice medicine and her clinic has permits to operate.

She was granted temporary freedom after posting after posting bail.IMT
