Individuals who are not vaccinated against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) will be prohibited from entering cemeteries in Iloilo City during the observance of “Fiesta Minatay” or the traditional memorial days of the dead.

Under Executive Order (EO) No. 85-2022 issued by Mayor Jerry P. Treñas, only those fully and partially vaccinated visitors, including minors, will be allowed to enter cemeteries, memorial parks, columbaria and similar places.

Cemetery goers are required to present their vaccination cards and valid IDs as proof that they have been inoculated.

This will be implemented starting 12 a.m. of Oct. 31 until 11:59 p.m. of Nov. 2.

The EO also requires visitors to observe minimum health protocols such as the consistent and proper wearing of face masks, frequent hand hygiene and the strict observance of social distancing.

Items and activities that are prohibited inside the premises of cemeteries include “any type of vehicle, liquors and/or alcoholic beverages, flammable materials, firearms and any sharp objects (knife, cutter, etc.), videoke or any sound system that may cause loud sounds,deck of cards, bingo cards, or any kind of gambling activities, and overnight staying.”IMT
