Iloilo Fifth District Representative Raul “Boboy” Tupas has opted to be more patient and understanding to avoid aggravating the strained relationship with his elder brother, former congressman Niel “Junjun” Tupas, Jr.
In a radio interview, Boboy said he has no desire to take revenge against Junjun, who raised the hand of his opponent in the vice gubernatorial race at their ancestral house in Barotac Viejo recently.
Despite being hurt by what Junjun did, Boboy stressed that they are “still family” and said he remains hopeful that their rift will be resolved.
“Instead nga magbalus, I would rather do more good para sa akon isigkatawu kag bisan pa sa mga nagapasipala sa akon,” he said.
“Mas happy ako nga maghinguyang sang akon panahon para sa mga butang nga makapaayo sa akon, sa akon pamilya kag sa mga pumuluyo nga daku ang paglaum sa akon,” Boboy further said.
According to the incumbent congressman, a leader “cannot lead kon madasig [siya] magreact kag maakig.”
Boboy said he and his wife, Board Member Binky Tupas, want to impart to young people the value of patience and to show them that harboring ill will towards those who have hurt them does not bring good.
