The Para Games crown remained untouched after Western Visayas athletes pulled off a dominating performance to secure a back-to-back title during the recently concluded 2024 Palarong Pambansa in Cebu City.

Trailblazing ahead of fourteen other participating regions in the country, Region 6 stockpiled a total of 24 gold, 21 silver, and 14 bronze medals to top the podium.

Region 4 tailed behind with 13 gold, 9 silver, and 9 bronze medals while Region 9 ranked third with 9 gold, 8 silver, and 5 bronze medals.

Bannering the region, Lambunao, Iloilo athlete Lovely Elha Lastimoso Dago from Don Eugenio Ladrido Memorial Elementary School (DELMES) amassed three gold medals in Para Games Athletics-Youth category.

With determination and great prowess, Dago chipped in to the overall medal haul of the region by acing the Shot Put, Long Jump, and 4×100-Meter Relay games.

In the overall ranking of this year’s Palarong Pambansa, Region 6 settled for a second runner-up finish.IMT Sports
