An alumnus of West Visayas State University (WVSU) in La Paz, Iloilo City topped the November 2023 Philippine Nurses Licensure Examination (PNLE).
Cris Vinz Tomboc obtained a score of 91.00 percent. He shared the No. 1 spot with Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila graduate Aristotle Calayan Castronuevo.
In a Facebook post, Tomboc dedicated his achievement to his parents. “This one’s for you my ma and pa!”
“I am forever grateful to the wonderful people who stood by me from day one,” he said.
Tomboc is a native of Barangay Poblacion in the town of President Quirino, Sultan Kudarat province.
Other graduates of WVSU who made it to the Top 10 were Dennyl Marie Chavez, who ranked eighth with a score of 89.60 percent; Pert Henry Mabaquiao, who landed in the ninth place with a score of 89.40 percent; and Jannah Kyra Javelona, who grabbed the 10th spot with a score of 89.20 percent.
Of the 32,203 examinees, 25,761 passed the exam given by the Board of Nursing in 19 testing centers all over the Philippines last month.
