West Visayas State University (WVSU) emerged as the top performing school in the November 2023 Philippine Nurses Licensure Examination (PNLE).
WVSU achieved a 100-percent passing rate in PNLE as all of its 152 nursing graduates passed the exam last month.
The Iloilo City-based university shared the top spot with 16 other schools, namely University of Santo Tomas, Velez College, Cebu Doctors College, Angeles University Foundation, Siliman University, Xavier College, University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center, Saint Paul University – Dumaguete, Benguet State University – La Trinidad, Remedies T. Romualdez Medical Foundation, Ateneo de Davao University, Cebu Normal University, Sacred Heart College of Lucena City, Inc., New Era University, Negros Oriental State University – Dumaguete, and College of Maasin.
WVSU also produced four topnotchers in PNLE. Cris Vinz Tomboc ranked first with a score of 91.00 percent, followed by Dennyl Marie Chavez (eighth, 89.60 percent), Pert Henry Mabaquiao (ninth, 89.40 percent), and Jannah Kyra Javelona (10th, 89.20 percent.)
“The unstoppable wave has continuously expounded [Batch Hydra’s] greatness and prowess, once again placing the name of our beloved institution on the national pedestal,” the Nursing Student Council (NSC) said in a statement.
“To the great minds of the Class of 2023, we—your WVSU-CON (College of Nursing) family—are undoubtedly proud of your progress and achievements, and we wish you only the best for the upcoming milestones ahead,” it added.
Of the 32,203 examinees, 25,761 passed the exam given by the Board of Nursing in 19 testing centers all over the Philippines.
